An upturned deflection track assembly connects cold-formed metal framing studs to a structural steel roof system. The hollow structural section column supports a wide-flange beam configured with a welded L3x3x1/4 kicker angle, with ends coped as shown. A TSN Verticlip fastens the 800S162-54 studs at 16 inches on center to the vertical support, accommodating vertical deflection. The roof deck bears directly on the wide-flange beam, sized and attached per structural schedules. Soffit framing connects below, while column cap and stiffener plates are provided at the support interface.
