An eight-inch concrete stem wall rests on a continuous footing sized per schedule. Vertical reinforcement consists of number five bars at twelve inches on center, centered in the wall with standard hooks extending into the footing and alternating directions. Two number five continuous horizontal reinforcing bars are provided within the stem wall. The slab-on-grade and exterior slab bear on the stem wall, with slab-on-grade reinforcement hooked into the stem wall. Insulation is provided at the exterior face of the stem wall as specified by the architect.
