Steel beams frame into opposite sides of a steel column with an offset between their vertical elevations. Fifty KSI continuity plates are installed across the column web, sized to equal the greater beam flange thickness plus one-eighth inch, with sloped continuity plates provided where the offset exceeds three inches minimum. Complete joint penetration groove welds secure the top and bottom beam flanges to the column. Welded shear tabs connect the beam webs using three vertical bolts with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds and one-inch returns.
