A cold-formed steel stud drift connection at an existing wide flange beam at the roof perimeter consists of existing metal stud framing at twenty-four inches on center with a Simpson DSSCB drift clip fastened with two XLSH78B1414 number fourteen shouldered screws per stud in pattern D. A four by two by five-sixteenths inch angle, nine inches long, is centered on each stud and welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. The existing connection to the studs is disconnected after the clip installation to allow in-plane drift. An existing nested track connection below accommodates vertical movement.
