Two continuous steel beams frame into opposite sides of a structural steel column web utilizing typical shear tabs and welded top and bottom flanges. The beam flanges connect to continuity plates sized to the greater of the connected beam flange thicknesses, welded with complete joint penetration welds at the top and bottom flanges of both beams. A typical shear tab connects each beam web with a vertical row of four bolts. Five-sixteenths inch fillet welds secure the shear tabs, while half-thickness fillet welds connect the continuity plates to the column web. Connection details and members are sized per plan and reference sheet 05201.
