A structural steel core assembly features a cruciform steel core housed inside a tubular or pipe casing with a cementitious grout fill and proprietary interface material. The steel core extends to bolted connections at each end through gusset plates and lug plates. A one-eighth inch seal weld is specified at the casing connections with instructions for a seal weld only. The assembly is symmetrical about the centerline.
