This assembly features a vertical construction joint separating a reinforced slab-on-grade from an adjacent concrete topping slab placed over insulation. The slab-on-grade rests on a compacted subgrade with a continuous vapor barrier at the step. The topping slab is supported by a layer of capillary break material. The construction joint is referenced to typical detail 13 on sheet B111.S5.201.
