A three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plate is welded horizontally between the flanges of a wide-flange steel column web. A gusset plate provided by the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer aligns with the stiffener and column centerlines per reference elevations. Section cut A-A indicates the orientation of the connection assembly.
