An insulated precast concrete wall panel bears against the building structure, featuring a one-and-a-half-inch gap and a maximum six-inch dimension at the floor level. The assembly connects to a wide-flange steel beam supporting a concrete slab on metal deck, reinforced with a four-by-four-by-three-eighths-inch angle kicker on each panel bearing point. One-half-inch Grade 50 full-depth stiffener plates are welded to each side of the web directly below the panel bearing point using a quarter-inch fillet weld. A hollow structural section beam provides lateral out-of-plane attachment lower down on the panel. The general contractor must coordinate exact locations with the precast manufacturer and steel fabricator.
