A vertical concrete wall construction joint features a one-and-a-half-inch keyway centered in the wall thickness with twelve-inch long keys spaced at twenty-four inches on center. Two rows of keys are required where the concrete wall thickness exceeds sixteen inches. Typical horizontal wall reinforcement continues across the joint. The surface of the first pour must be cleaned prior to placing concrete for the second pour.
