The rooftop unit curb bears on a C6 or MC6 channel located within the deck flutes and is secured with bolts running through the deck and channel. Tapered blocking is fitted at the curb base, and 2x2x3/16-inch angles are installed on each side from the channel down to the bottom chord panel point of the joist. A one-eighth-inch fillet weld attaches elements through the deck. Additional angles are omitted if the dimension is less than 6 inches.
