Precast concrete panels connect using an overlapping joint reinforced with embedded steel plates and angles. A 1/2-inch by 6-inch by 1-foot-0-inch plate and a 1/2-inch by 3 1/2-inch by 0-foot-8-inch plate weld to an L6x6x1/2 angle that is 1 foot-0 inches long. Three #5 reinforcing bars spaced at 4 inches on center tie the embedded steel assemblies into the concrete panels. Additional #5 by 36-inch long reinforcing dowels bridge across the overlapping panel joint. A 5/16-inch fillet weld secures the embedded steel components.
