A canopy beam connects to a hollow structural section post using a five-eighths-inch Grade 50 shear tab welded with a five-sixteenths fillet weld. The plate and nuts are located on the east face of the beam. A one-inch clearance is maintained from the face of the cladding, which is positioned per architectural drawings.
