A structural steel davit socket pedestal is welded atop a beam that frames into a column with an offset connection. The beam web connects to three-eighths-inch stiffener plates on each side of the column using one-quarter-inch fillet welds. A one-half-inch by four-inch plate sized one inch wider than the beam flange is welded to the flanges with one-quarter-inch fillet welds.
