A cold-formed steel stud splice connection is detailed using a 16 gauge minimum compensation track with a 1 1/2 inch minimum vertical slotted hole. The assembly is fastened with number 10 sheet metal screws spaced at 8 inches on center, supplemented by number 8 sheet metal screws on each side of the stud through the 16 gauge track. This connection should be used only where indicated on the drawings.
