Steel floor beams connect to a structural steel column using a bolted shear tab on the web and A572-50 steel plates welded to the top and bottom flanges. The shear tabs feature standard holes spaced at three inches on center with edge distances of one and a half and two and a half inches. Flange plates match the thickness of the beam flange, align flush with the flange edges, and use five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Column web stiffener plates are welded top and bottom with five-sixteenths inch welds, and weld access holes are detailed per AISC 360 specifications.
