Precast concrete panels meet at a 90-degree building corner connected by embedded steel plates and welded structural steel connections. A 1/2-inch by 8-inch by 1'-4" steel plate embedded in the concrete panel anchors three #6 reinforcing bars extending 3 feet long at 6 inches on center. A 3/4-inch by 2 1/2-inch by 1'-1" steel plate and an adjacent 1/2-inch by 5-inch by 1'-4" plate with three #6 bars at 6 inches gauge connect the panels with typical fillet welds. Welded connections utilize field welds with specified sizing, and grout is placed in the joint after welding. Welded wire reinforcement of 4x4-W2.1xW2.1 WWF is embedded within the concrete panels.
