A wide-flange steel beam connects to a reinforced concrete masonry unit wall via a structural channel embed secured with headed stud anchors. ASTM A325 bolts fasten the beam web to the embed channel using washers that completely cover the slots per structural notes. The masonry wall features continuous bond beam reinforcing located within eight inches of the top of the steel beam, maintaining a two-inch minimum and eight-inch maximum clearance.
