A structural steel wide-flange section or built-up plate girder features top and bottom plates joined with fillet welds. The top plate is specified with a top plate, each side, where indicated, and welded to the flange tips with weld size Wt. The bottom plate is connected to the web with weld size Wb. Dimensional callouts indicate plate widths and the distance k from the flange face to the web toe of fillet.
