L3x3x5/16 typical structural steel angles serve as braces connected to the open web steel joist system and supporting steel beams. Field welds are specified with one-quarter inch fillet welds typically at the beam condition and brace connections. The detail includes a reference callout to sheet S701 detail 15 for the opposite condition.
