This assembly provides a structural splice for steel edge angles at a joint location. The connection utilizes a 3/4 inch by 4 inch by 18 inch ASTM A992 Grade 50 steel splice plate at the long leg and a 3/4 inch by 3 inch by 18 inch ASTM A992 Grade 50 steel splice plate at the short leg of the angle. These plates are centered on the joint and secured with 5/16 inch fillet welds applied to three sides of the plates.
