An HSS column bears onto an existing concrete beam via a 3/8-inch by 6-inch by 1-foot-6-inch embed plate secured with two rows of two 1/2-inch-diameter epoxied anchors having a 4-inch minimum embedment. Wide-flange beams frame into the structural assembly using typical bolted connections and welded attachments. A W8X10 shape is welded to the column with a quarter-inch fillet weld.
