A structural steel beam bears continuously over the centerline of a vertical steel column. Three-sixteenths inch fillet welds secure the connection assembly at the beam-to-column interface. The top of steel elevation aligns with the upper bearing surface, maintaining a specified dimension k from the top of the column to the bottom flange.
