An HSS column supports two wide-flange beams via a 3/4-inch by 18-inch by 1-foot-6-inch column cap plate welded with a 5/16-inch fillet weld. Full-depth 3/8-inch stiffener plates are welded to the beams with 1/4-inch fillet welds on three sides typically. Four 3/4-inch diameter A325N bolts connect the beam webs at a 3-inch typical vertical spacing with 1 1/2-inch and 1 3/4-inch edge clearances. Wide-flange beams are positioned per reference plans.
