An equipment saddle connects to a structural steel beam flange using a bolted connection with a one-quarter inch plate washer. Stiffener plates are field tack welded on three sides to the beam web and flanges. The fixed end is welded only after the equipment is in place. At the slide end, a one-sixteenth inch clearance is maintained under the bottom nut per field erection notes, with bolt sizes shipped loose by the fabricator.
