A wood beam supported by a wood post utilizes a structural steel knee brace to provide lateral stiffness at the framed corner. A Simpson ECC bracket secures the upper beam-to-post intersection using machine bolts spaced with vertical edge distances. An L 3x3x1/4-inch angle acts as the knee brace, fastened at each end with three 5/8-inch diameter machine bolts.
