A truss bottom chord connects to the web of a wide flange column using a three-quarter-inch Grade 50 shear plate welded to the column with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides. Three seven-eighth-inch diameter ASTM F3125 Grade A325 bolts center within two-and-a-half-inch horizontal slotted holes in the web connection to accommodate movement. One-half-inch stiffener plates weld horizontally to the top and bottom of the column web aligned with the chord. A three-quarter-inch gap separates the end of the truss bottom chord from the face of the column flange.
