A concrete mechanical equipment pad rests on a metal roof deck supported by a wide-flange steel beam. A continuous one-quarter-inch by eight-inch by four-inch bent plate is welded to the top flange of the beam with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld at twelve inches on center. A reinforcing bar designated as number three at twelve inches on center is welded to the bent plate and laps into the concrete MEP pad reinforcement. The concrete MEP pad is sloped to drain and features a one-and-a-half-inch concrete clearance. The assembly accommodates an MEP zone and pad sized per plan.
