This structural connection details a steel beam framing to another steel beam using connecting angles. Standard holes are provided in the beam web, while horizontally short slotted holes are punched in the angles with a spacing of three inches on center. The detail requires one and a half inch minimum dimensions from the top of steel and ends, maintaining a half inch typical clearance between the connected members. Bolt size and quantity are determined per table C. Edge distances and spacing dimensions govern the placement of fasteners across the web connection.
