Steel floor framing utilizes shear plates, beam splices, and stiffeners welded to wide-flange members with high-strength ASTM A325 bolts. Shear connections connect secondary members using grade 50 shear plates with specified bolt diameters, spacings, and fillet weld sizes. Splice connections incorporate two vertical rows of A325 high-strength bearing bolts with quantities determined by the accompanying beam size schedule. Stiffener plates are welded to the web and flanges where indicated on plan to reinforce high-load areas.
