A continuous L6x6x5/16 angle is welded to the supporting steel beam web with 3/16-inch fillet welds spaced at 2-12. The concrete slab steps down with a 4-inch recess over the metal deck per plan. Reinforcing includes number 3 Z-bars at 12 inches on center and two number 4 bars at the perimeter of the recess.
