A concrete slab on steel deck bears on a structural steel beam positioned above a concrete masonry unit bond beam wall. An L4x3x5/16x1'-0" angle with long leg vertical is anchored to the edge, welded to a bent or fabricated 1/4 inch minimum plate with three-sixteenths inch welds at each end of the angle to the plate. A one-quarter inch fillet weld with E90 electrode connects the plate to the edge assembly with a one-inch maximum gap and a typical top of wall gap. Reinforcement consists of number four dowel bars of Grade 60 A706 steel spaced at twelve inches on center, supplemented by number four bars spaced at eighteen inches minimum, maintaining a three-quarters inch clear cover.
