A glulam post connects to a concrete mat slab using a concealed steel stub base and standoff plate. The steel base consists of a hollow structural section stub welded to a three-eighths by eight-inch square base plate with a quarter-inch fillet weld. Four five-eighths-inch diameter anchor bolts embed twelve inches into the mat slab to secure the base plate. The glulam post fits over the steel stub per plan and attaches with through-bolts.
