A steel column and base plate are anchored atop a concrete slab with vertical column reinforcing bars featuring standard hooks and a four-inch clearance. Beam reinforcement ties and top and bottom slab reinforcement are sized per plan and schedule. The concrete interface features an intentionally roughened surface and a one-inch chamfer at the edge.
