Typical existing wide flange beams frame into an existing hollow structural section column using bolted connection plates on both sides of the column web. The structural assembly aligns with the building grid line centered above the column. High-strength bolts secure the beam webs to the connection plates in a multi-row configuration typical of steel framing details.
