Steel beams connect to a column flange using a single plate shear tab welded to the column and bolted to the beam web. The shear tab is sized per the non-moment beam connection schedule with welds sized per schedule plus one-sixteenth of an inch. Continuity plates are provided at the beam flanges and sized per typical details. Bolt sizes, quantities, and spacing are determined by the structural schedule and framing plan.
