A wide flange beam connects to a concrete wall through an embedded steel plate assembly. The embedded plate measures three-eighths by nine inches by height, anchored with three-quarter-inch diameter by five-inch headed studs arranged in two rows spaced at six inches on center horizontally and five inches on center vertically. A three-eighths by four-inch angle plate welds to the embedded plate with a quarter-inch fillet weld and connects to the wide flange beam with erection bolts in horizontal slotted holes. The top of the embedded plate aligns with the top of the beam, maintaining a two-and-a-half-inch minimum distance from the top of the concrete wall. A five-sixteenths fillet weld secures the beam web to the connection plate at the top and bottom.
