A square structural steel base plate measuring two feet by two feet receives a steel column section sized per schedule and oriented per plan. Four anchor bolts designated as AB1 are positioned in the corners at ten-inch spacings from centerlines with two-inch edge distances. The two-and-one-half-inch thick plate is fabricated from steel with a yield strength of thirty-six ksi. A weld symbol connects the base plate to the column profile.
