An HSS6x4x1/4 structural steel member connects to a wide-flange column using a quarter-inch plate on each side secured with two three-quarter-inch diameter A325N through bolts. An HSS hanger drops down from a wide-flange beam above, utilizing a quarter-inch by three-inch plate on each side with two three-quarter-inch diameter A325N through bolts centered on the plate and hollow structural section. Three-sixteenths inch fillet welds attach the connection plates to the structural steel elements. A channel member ties into the assembly at the bottom, with dimensions and elevations referenced to architectural plans.
