A cold-formed steel header is framed into a jamb stud sized per schedule. A 1 1/2-inch by 1 1/2-inch by 54 mil angle spanning the jamb width minus one-half inch supports the underside of the header, secured with two number 8 sheet metal screws in each leg passing through both the stud and the track of the header. Additionally, 2-inch by 2-inch by 33 mil plates are attached at each side of the header connection using four number 8 sheet metal screws at 1 inch on center each way.
