The structural steel assembly utilizes an L8x6x1/2 angle with long legs vertical supporting the hollow structural section. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld secures the HSS to the angle with a three-inch minimum weld length, while a three-sixteenth-inch weld is specified at the angle connection. The embed plate measures vertically with layout dimensions including six-inch spacings and four-and-a-half-inch gauge lines.
