A concrete-filled metal deck bears on a steel girder with a filler plate inserted between the bottom of the deck and the top flange of the beam. Shear studs are welded through the metal deck and filler plate directly into the top flange of the girder. The metal deck is cut as required around the girder flange and filler plate where the deck ribs do not land directly on the beam.
