An HSS post connects to an HSS 8x8x3/8 divider beam using structural steel angles on each side. The upper connection uses an L5x3-1/2x1/2 angle six inches long secured with a three-quarter-inch diameter A307 bolt in a thirteen-sixteenths by one-and-seven-eighths-inch vertical slotted hole, hand tightened. The lower connection uses an L3-1/2x3-1/2x1/2 angle six inches long secured with a three-quarter-inch diameter A307 bolt, hand tightened. A quarter-inch fillet weld on three sides fastens the angles to the HSS post where it occurs.
