A three-ply cross-laminated timber deck bears directly on a wide-flange steel beam, anchored with a lateral tie plate sized per plan and a continuous three-eighths by four-inch plate. A five-ply cross-laminated timber deck connects to the web of the steel beam using an L6x6x1/2 angle with three rows of Kombi screws. Wall framing sits above the upper deck assembly and is secured with continuous plates and welds. Three-eighths-inch stiffener plates are welded to the steel beam at four-foot centers. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size secure the steel plates and angles as indicated.
