Steel column web plate connections feature optional diagonal web plates or bent web plates at the contractor's discretion. The assembly includes one-half-inch plates matching the depth of the web plate typically, with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds and complete joint penetration welds specified throughout. Centerlines of beams frame into the column flanges and web across multiple orientations with three-inch typical spacing. Notes allow for either flat diagonal plates or bent plates to be installed at the column corners.
