An HSS column base connects to a thick embed plate anchored by multiple anchor bolts extending downward through a concrete assembly. A two-inch layer of non-shrink grout sits beneath the base plate to transfer loads evenly. Side connection plates welded with five-sixteenths fillet welds secure an adjoining HSS member using two seven-eighths diameter high-strength bolts on each side. Standard bolt holes are provided alongside one-and-a-half-inch grout holes within the embed plate assembly.
