A concrete slab edge features a downward thickened edge with an 8-inch base width and a minimum 1-foot-zero-inch depth below the finish grade or paving. Continuous number four reinforcing bars with standard hooks are embedded within the edge per the foundation plan and architectural grading. The main slab reinforcing is placed typically throughout the concrete slab and coordinated with the foundation plan.
