A continuous L4x3x1/4 steel angle is welded to an embed plate in the concrete podium slab to anchor the stair stringer. A 3/16-inch fillet weld secures the angle to the stringer with specific welds specified at four each end and two at twelve inches typically. The assembly features a three-and-a-half-inch blockout at the stair nosing aligned with the edge of the slab. A one-quarter-inch steel plate is positioned at the slab edge beyond, and the slab edge is aligned and welded to the stringer.
