A brace and gusset plate install through an existing concrete grade beam. Portions of the existing grade beam designated by gray hatch are to be removed and re-cast following the installation of the brace and gusset. Existing slab rebar is protected and must remain continuous through the assembly. New reinforcement includes number four stirrups at twelve inches on center on both sides of the gusset, along with two number four bars placed within the stirrup on each side.
