Cold-formed steel jamb studs are anchored to the concrete foundation wall using angle clips and mechanical or adhesive fasteners. Additional L3x clips are provided at wall penetrations over six feet wide and as an alternate attachment for all penetration widths. An L5x3x54 mil angle, sized one-half inch less than the stud width, connects to the jamb using four number eight screws and to the concrete using two powder-actuated fasteners with a one-and-one-half-inch minimum embedment. Alternatively, an L3x clip secured with a five-eighths-inch diameter adhesive anchor embedded seven inches is provided on each side of the jamb stud. Load-bearing shims or grout are placed between the underside of the wall bottom track or rim track and the support below at any stud or joist location where the gap exceeds one-quarter inch.
